YDMT Vacancy - Green Guardians Project Officer

YDMT are seeking a project officer to deliver the ‘Green Guardians’ element of our new ‘Green Futures’ project, funded through the BIG Lottery Fund. Green Futures will offer a 5-year programme of environmental projects for young people in the Yorkshire Dales and its catchment.
Green Guardians will provide inspirational opportunities for young people from a range of communities within and bordering the Yorkshire Dales to enjoy, learn about and take part in practical activities in the natural environment of the Yorkshire Dales.

Stories in Stone - job vacancies with Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust

Stories in Stone is an ambitious four-year programme of conservation and community projects concentrated on the Ingleborough area of the Yorkshire Dales. The scheme has been developed by the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership and is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, the lead partner, is now seeking to recruit a project team who will work with the Scheme Manager and a wide range of project partners:

Hay Time

A four year £520k programme aiming to restore 280ha of meadows within the Dales and North Pennines. This has started highly successfully, with 53 ha restored at 13 sites. 120 landowners have registered an interest, work has been undertaken, good publicity generated and many practical lessons learned. Besides restoring a vital part of our landscape and biodiversity, this project aims to provide new and sustainable income streams for farmers.

Dales Woodland Restoration

A £330k scheme to plant 150 hectares new native woodlands by 2008. Traditional species such as ash, rowan, birch, hazel and elder, shrubs, hawthorn, holly. Builds on ten years of woodland creation which has seen us fund the planting of more than 700,000 trees.
